||5 of 6 people found the following review helpful.| Excellent|By Scott Michael Doughty|An excellent addition to my English library, especially as it focuses on different structures than the Marin series (where g2-g3 is played in nearly all lines) and discusses reasonable deviations from the repertoire where applicable. Cummings wrote a nice little book on the Symmetrical English in 2001; this one is better.
Recommend||Cummings writes in an engaging style and is very strong on explaining the ideas for both sides throughout the book. He pulls off the trick of making it very accessible to club players and/or those new to the English while at the same time offering enough idea
